Our ‘Matavai Show Group’ performers are held to a high standard and the expectations for them to set examples to the possible future members of ‘Matavai Show Group’ are taken very seriously. This is because Matavai believes the talented youth within our group are the cultural leaders of tomorrow. Students part of our select group are given fantastic opportunities to develop their performance abilities, cultural knowledge and explore their teaching both in Sydney and overseas. In 2018 the ‘Matavai Show Group’ travelled to Samoa on an educational excursion, whilst also raising $10,000 tala for the Samoan Cancer Society. Showgroup members must have cultural dance experience, attends Matavai classes, auditioned for a spot or are chosen to be part of the team. Our Matavai Show group have performed for many major events over the years.
