Where are the classes held?
Classes are held at the Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts Centre, located in the Lurnea Community Hub at Phillips Park, 66 Hill Road, Lurnea.
What ages can enrol?
The minimum age requirement for students to enrol is 4 years old. We welcome children, teenagers and adults across a range of Pacific cultural programs.
How much do classes cost?
Term fees are priced per class and vary depending on the student’s age and the type of class:
- Culture Class: $17 for students Under 18, and $20 for adults 19 and over.
- Siva Afi: $20 for students Under 18, and $22 for adults 19 and over.
- Samoan Language: $12 per class for under 18 and $22 per class for students 19 and over.
- An administration fee of $7.50 per family is also applied each term.
The listed prices above are for TERM CLASSES only. Different pricing applies for casual classes.
Do I need to enrol every term?
Yes. All students, including returning students, complete an enrolment each term to ensure all information remains current.
How long are classes?
Most classes run for approximately 60 minutes.
Terms generally run between 8–10 weeks, depending on public holidays and the class schedule.
Can we attend classes on a casual basis?
Yes, casual attendance is an option, though it is not recommended for students under 15 years old as missed classes make it difficult to keep up with choreography.
Casual classes are charged at a slightly higher rate and must be paid in full prior to attending each class.
Do you accept Active and Creative Kids Vouchers or offer discounts?
Yes, we offer family discounts and proudly accept Active and Creative Kids Vouchers!
Active & Creative Kids Vouchers Each voucher is valued at $50. To claim yours, please email the voucher details directly to the studio for processing.
Important Terms & Conditions: As per the government guidelines, vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash. Once a voucher has been processed and redeemed by Matavai, it is strictly non-refundable. If you decide not to attend classes after your voucher has been redeemed, the value will be held as a credit on your account for future use.

These discounts are applied automatically to your invoice where eligible.
What happens if we miss a class?
Fees are not pro-rated, and no refunds are provided for missed classes. However, where possible, students can attend a make-up class at another available time within the same term.
